large format TV backdrop

Here is a surrealistic view of Shanghai, shot and “built” over the last weeks, used as a stage backdrop for ‘Asia Uncut’ TV show. It is 20 meters long by 5 meters high. It was done in team with a designer friend (Nicolas Cinguino) for Fly Films company.  Shot using large format camera (4×5”). For those who never came to Shanghai, this image is not exactly real but composed of around 12 images of different buildings and sceneries shot around town.

Shooting was tricky, under the rain and cold. Each tower was shot separately using 4×5″ camera.
As an example, I found access to 40th level of tower under construction, in front of the Oriental Pearl tower.

Below a snap of one of shooting locations:

The compositing part was tricky as well, Nicolas had to handle with a final image is 600 M. pixels…

Here are some details of the final backdrop (close-up):

  1. Hi there would you mind letting me know which hosting company
you’re using? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different web browsers and
I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you suggest a good internet
hosting provider at a fair price? Kudos, I appreciate it!
